Sun Valley Sanitary District

The Sun Valley Sanitary District was created to accommodate increasing growth and development around Sun Valley lake. The Sanitary District maintains a waste management system for the benefit of members of the lake and local community.

About the District

The Sun Valley Sanitary District was created in 1989 by the Ringgold County Board of Supervisors, and is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. The purpose of the District is to manage sewage for members of the lake community. The Sun Valley Sanitary District is comprised of a system of containment vessels, lift stations and pump houses that transport and contain the waste – all to protect our properties and our lake from pollution. The Sanitary District is a separate legal entity from the SVILA even though we are members of both groups.
